Different ways to use the outdoor space at your wedding venue

Updated: Sep 2, 2023

The courtyard at The Weinberg! Such a great outdoor space at the venue that is just calling to be used in some way! The courtyard has become a place for many different wedding day activities. We love it for its versatility as well as its many photo opportunities!

New to The Weinberg? We are centrally located Texas wedding and event venue near College Station, Texas. The Weinberg boast a beautiful chapel and reception hall. A wonderful addition that cannot be overlooked is our outdoor space, including our veranda and courtyard. From ceremonies to rehearsal dinner seating, the courtyard has been used to create an elevated outdoor experience here at The Weinberg. Lined with cafe lights and surrounded by a picture-perfect backdrop from all directions, the ambiance and views are unbeatable!

Explore the many ways the courtyard has been utilized in different seasons here at The Weinberg and stick around to the end to find a unique idea we have yet to see!

First Dance

Not only is it the most dreamy ambiance with the cafe lights above, but it also has the most picture-perfect backgrounds from every direction! You’ve got the beautiful new chapel in one direction , the venue in another AND the pond and vineyard! What a picturesque place to share your first dance as husband and wife, surround by your friends and family!

Cocktail Hour

Extending your cocktail tables arrangement to reach the courtyard creates a great flow for your event. Being that it is perfectly positioned between the chapel and the outdoor bar, it is a great way to create space for larger parties. Displaying your seating chart here is a win-win! It add a nice personal touch of decor to the space while also allowing guests to leisurely view their table setting before heading into the reception hall.

Grand March

Large parties make for a large Grand March! A lot of times the floor plan doesn't allow for a Grand March inside, so the outdoor space makes for a great, even preferred, alternative! Guests start the march at the courtyard, leading the party around the many side walks (and even the pond if you'd like!), and finish at the courtyard again! It's so much fun and allows you to keep a your ideal floor plan AND have a large Grand March.

Rehearsal Dinner

This is such a great option for our 36 hour or rehearsal dinner packages (inquire here for more information on these). In the cooler months, enjoy your rehearsal dinner and drinks out on the courtyard. This saves the Grand Hall experience for wedding day for you and your guests.

- View our Instagram Highlight "Floor Plans" to see how this has been set up.-

Ceremony

One of many beautiful ceremony options here at The Weinberg. The courtyard seats approximately 180-200 guests and has access to outlets for DJ to set up speakers.

Last Dance

Much like the first dance, the courtyard provides a dreamy location for your last dance. By the time your private last dance rolls around, it will be nightfall and the courtyard is beautifully lit by cafe lights and perfectly placed landscape lights. A romantic way to conclude your wedding day, just the two of you.

Grand Exit

Although the entry of the venue creates a great place for a grand exit, the courtyard provides a great alternative if you'd like to mix it up. Sparklers are not allowed at the courtyard exit, but flower petals or bubbles make for great exit photos here!

- Things to keep in mind about flower petal exits: plan for a clean up crew.

These petal go all over and they will need to be collected and disposed of after the conclusion of the exit.-

Main Dance Floor

Now this is our unique idea we've yet to see here at The Weinberg. How fun would it be to have your dance floor under the stars ALL NIGHT?! How we have envisioned it: conclude ceremony, enjoy cocktail hour inside, followed by dinner and speeches, then announce first dances out on the courtyard followed by open dance floor! We love this idea, so consider hosting your dance floor outside on the courtyard.

Now that you've seen the many different uses for the courtyard-

how will you plan to use the space?

We'd love for you to come see the space for yourself,
